We’re thrilled to welcome Bernard Markey, a BBC Studios executive, to Vibrant Television as Head of Development.

Working across our slate, Bernard will help us develop our entertainment and factual shows, focusing on returning formats as we increase our unscripted output.

Over the last two decades, he has worked in an eclectic mix of production and development roles and has experience in creating almost every genre.

His production and development output includes everything from celebrity travelogues, archive docs, and property shows to hidden cameras, quizzes, and game shows.

Notably, Bernard oversaw reformatting the heritage brands in Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow and rebooting Blockbusters with Dara O’Briain.

Bernard joined Vibrant after 3.5 years as a Senior Development Executive at BBC Studios.

During his tenure at BBCS, he oversaw the creation and development of several commissions across a range of broadcasters, including ‘Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend’ and ‘Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures in Sicily’ for BBC One, ‘Russell Kane’s Evil Genius for Sky History, ‘Pete Wicks: For Dog's Sake’ for UKTV, and 'Big Zuu & AJ Tracey's Seriously Rich Flavours' for Sky Max, to name a few.

When not in the Vibrant offices attempting to create the next great format, Bernard can be found tinkering in his workshop with his trademark pencil behind his ear.
